Bio
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Emilie embarked on a multifaceted journey blending law, academia, and community service. Graduating magna cum laude from Southwestern Law School in 2023, she stood out as a legal scholar, earning accolades such as the CALI Excellence for the Future Award and serving as Lead Articles Editor for the Southwestern Law Review. She began her labor law career in 2017 when she started interning at The Law Offices of Michael Burgis and Associates, learning the workers’ compensation landscape while studying for her bachelor’s degree. During law school, she demonstrated a passion for education and social impact, serving as a student teacher with the Southwestern Law School Street Law Clinic, empowering at-risk youth with legal knowledge and personalized resources.
Before her legal journey, Emilie cultivated diverse skills, tutoring languages and writing for Textbroker while fostering puppies with Dogs Without Borders. Armed with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media from the University of California, Los Angeles, she blends legal prowess with creative insights. Beyond her legal and academic pursuits, Emilie channels her energy into fostering social change and nurturing connections within her community.
